“Europe’s westernmost hotel” is one of the city’s landmarks. It was once a mansion where some of Lisbon’s wealthiest families spent many of their summer days, but is now a hotel open to anyone. It almost looks like a docked cruise ship, with five floors divided into 202 rooms, most of them overlooking the beach and the hotel’s three outdoor pools. Facilities include a spa and a restaurant specializing in fresh fish.

Divided into contemporary apartments, this hotel offers a superior 4-star service, with a spa, fitness center, and restaurant. The bigger apartments accommodate between 6 and 11 people, making it a good value for those traveling in groups. It’s found by the coastal road that leads to Ericeira’s largest beach (Praia da Foz do Lizandro), so guests can have their feet on the sand in just minutes.

Centrally located on one of the main streets of the old town that lead to the main square, this hotel is comprised of small twin rooms and a family suite. The contemporary interior contrasts with the traditional exterior with decorative tiles. It also has a colorful terrace and a bar.

This complex of wooden buildings to the north of Ericeira has around a dozen self-catering apartments facing the Atlantic. Praia dos Coxos is the closest beach, but the more popular surfing beach of São Lourenço is also nearby. There are Atlantic views from the balconies, while the flavors of the sea are served next door at a restaurant managed by the same owners.

It’s a 2-star hotel but very clean and comfortable, and conveniently located in the heart of town. Some of the rooms on the top floor offer a glimpse of the sea, and the beaches are within walking distance.

The best budget option in town stands right above the beach, and has a balcony with a panoramic view of the Atlantic. Some of the dorms and double rooms also have terraces or balconies and ocean views. The living room has a fireplace for the cold days, but you’ll likely be staying in the summer, and walking to the beach instead. The property is tastefully decorated, and the staff is very welcoming, making every guest feel at home.

Ericeira’s biggest hostel stands out for its outdoor swimming pool and variety of accommodation, ranging from dorms to pods, to double rooms and an apartment. It’s located close to Praia do Sul, and within walking distance of the old town’s bars and restaurants. Those who prefer to prepare their meals, may use the shared kitchen.

This attractive hostel is located in the center of the old town, just steps from Praia dos Pescadores. It’s a great value, and also scores points for the friendly staff. It has two modern dorms, a shared kitchen, and a restaurant with outdoor seating.

A restored 1950s house with a large landscaped terrace has been turned into a hostel. It has a small pool and barbecue facilities, while inside there are dorms, double rooms and studios. It’s within walking distance of just about anything, from restaurants and bars to the beaches.

Located just a short walk from Praia do Sul, this hostel has dorms and private rooms, all with views. Guests may enjoy breakfast on a terrace overlooking the Atlantic, and prepare meals in the shared kitchen.
